DILD

D.I.L.D. (Dream Induced Lucid Dream, Dream Induction of Lucid Dreams)

A DILD lucid dream happens when you are having a dream and then you realize that your actually dreaming.
Usually something or someone informs you that "this is a dream", or you just know somehow; maybe something strange happened or looks out of place or wrong in reality (usually you get the "this must be a dream" thought from something, somebody, or somehow). Dream Induced Lucid Dreaming is the most common type of Lucid Dreams amongst lucid dreamers, and regular people alike.

The DILD technique is not really a technique, but a phenomenon that happens from time to time, or is conditioned to happen. The dream world is so realistic sometimes that it fools us into believing that we are awake, but sometimes a dream will make errors or recreate things incorrectly, or we will be doing something unnatural to our typical reality (e.g. flying). I'm not sure we would have discovered lucid dreaming if it wasn't for Dream Induced Lucid Dreaming. Lucid dreams would probably be impossible if you couldn't DILD.

You can use the DILD phenomenon to your advantage by:
  • Using Reality Checks to make sure your not dreaming right now
  • Things you do or wear in real life can cross over to your dreams
  • Remember your dream patterens: some people have recurring dreams or dream scenarios or dream characters; use them as signs that you are dreaming.

Additional Tips and Sources for D.I.L.D. Dream Induced Lucid Dream.

Tips:
  • Dream Memory and Recall: You must be able to remember your dreams so that you will remember that you had lucid dreams. Use a notebook and write down any dream keywords or thoughts until you can remember more dreams and detail.
  • Staying Lucid and Increasing Lucidity: If you lucid dream is distorted, or blurry, or you can't stay awake or lucid. Then try rubbing your hands together, touching a solid building or the ground, or spinning around in circles.
